
Dacher received his PhD in Social Psychology from Stanford University in 1989. After a post-doc fellowship at UCSF with Paul Ekman, in 1992 he landed his first academic job, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and then returned to Berkeley’s Psychology Department in 1996, where he is now a full professor. For the past 20 years he has also served as the faculty director of the Greater Good Science Center (greatergood.berkeley.edu) a leading center devoted to the science and practice of well-being, reaching millions of readers and health care and educational institutions around the world.
